COCOPEA Cybersecurity Forum

On February 17, 2022, the Coordinating Council of Private Educational Associations of the Philippines (COCOPEA) along with the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities (PACU), Zoom Video Communications Inc., and Rakso Computer Technology, Inc., held a virtual webinar entitled, “COCOPEA Cybersecurity Forum: Securing your Virtual Classroom and Meeting Rooms”.

According to COCOPEA Associate Director and PACU Executive Director Ms. Joyce Samaniego, the webinar aimed at helping “administrators, educators, and professionals to better prepare and safeguard [their] institutions and [themselves] in online activities and classes while using the video conferencing platforms available especially the Zoom platform.” It was attended by more than 200 educators from COCOPEA’s member associations: PACU, Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP), Association of Christian Schools, Colleges, and Universities (ACSCU), Philippine Association of Private Schools, Colleges, and Universities (PAPSCU), and Tech-Voc Schools Association of the Philippines (TVSA)

Educational institutions and associations always keep it a priority to ensure the safety of schools and students. It became more important when schools were forced to hold classes online due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As stated by COCOPEA Managing Director Atty Joseph Estrada, “COCOPEA is hosting this forum to emphasize the role of educational institutions in ensuring the safety of our students when they attend their classes even on online platforms.”

A key factor that made this event possible was Rakso CT, a technology and solutions provider with strong educational partner institutions and an official reseller partner of Zoom in the Philippines. As a Zoom reseller, Rakso CT is authorized in the implementation of Zoom licenses to schools, including training, consultations, and support in using the video communications platform.
