March 10, 2022, the Department of Education Education Technology (DepEd EdTech) Unit, in partnership with Microsoft Philippines and Rakso Computer Technology, Inc. kicked off the webinar series, “CHERS DAY”. It is a four-part webinar series held every Thursday of the month of March dedicated for teachers, hence the name, CHERS DAY. The webinar aimed at helping teachers enhance their online learning experience using Microsoft Applications.
DepEd EdTech Unit continues to help teachers in the country understand how to blend technology with emerging pedagogies. To feature Microsoft as the main learning point in the webinar series, collaborating with Rakso CT made this event possible. Rakso CT is recognized as a Microsoft Global Training Partner and is an official vendor of Microsoft products and licenses. Schools that might be interested in using or switching to Microsoft 365 because of this webinar can avail themselves through Rakso CT.
With online learning becoming the norm for delivering education, Microsoft has been a reliable option for schools looking for a Learning Management System (LMS). With Microsoft 365 as an LMS, schools can hold classes through Microsoft Teams and utilize other Microsoft apps such as Excel, PowerPoint, etc. to enhance the online learning experience.
CHERS DAY offers teachers and educators a fun and engaging webinar in which they will learn how to integrate Microsoft apps into their daily classes. The “pilot” episode of the webinar, “Through the Screen: Improving Reading, Vocabulary, and Literature”, included tips on Immersive Reader, Reading Progress, OneDrive, Microsoft Edge, and Office. More Microsoft applications and tools will be featured in the upcoming episodes of CHERS DAY.
Hosted by Ms. Erika Castillo of Claret School of Quezon City with Mr. Anthony Cedo of College of San Benildo – Rizal as the main instructor, the first CHERS DAY was a success. It reached viewers from all over the country with educators from the University of Lasallete, Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan, Kapatagan National High School, Matti National High School, and more.
